Hey there, I’m Chelsea (she/her)!

Founder, Mindful Type Creative

As a content writer, researcher, ICF-certified life coach, and psychology Ph.D., I have spent the last decade making complex mental health and personal development more accessible and easy to understand.

At Mindful Type Creative, we believe that marketing your business doesn’t need to be time-consuming or require working with inexperienced freelancers. As a values-led business owner, you want to help your audience learn, grow, and reach their goals.

That’s where we come in. We can help you create valuable blog content that engages your audience and positions you as a thought leader in the health and wellness industry.

Let us handle your content writing so you can get back to doing the work that matters!

My story

From academia to entreprenuership…

Ten years ago, my professional life looked very different than it does today. I was in the midst of a Ph.D. program in psychology, preparing to spend my career teaching and conducting research as an academic.

There was just one problem - I was endlessly dissatisfied with how academic research stayed with academics and was rarely shared with the people it could actually help. I was determined to do something about it and use my skills to help people.

After finishing my Ph.D., I spent the next several years practicing how to communicate complex information in ways that are engaging and informative. I gained skills in content writing, teaching, coaching, facilitation, and more.

Eventually, I moved away from academia and into entrepreneurship. When I started my coaching business, I became more comfortable with marketing and sales once I realized that I could use my blog to educate potential clients and share helpful information.

Content writing became just another way that I could help people.

I came to learn that content writing was another way to authentically show up as my true self and educate potential clients on my unique perspective.

Now with Mindful Type Creative, I want to help you use educational content marketing to grow your business. Let’s work together to connect with and inspire your dream clients!

Evan, Ria Health

“If you're developing content in the healthcare field, it's rare to find someone with both strong medical expertise and clear, succinct writing skills. It's often one or the other, and the search can be time-consuming. Chelsea checks both boxes, she's a lucky find. If you have a chance to work with her, do it!”

Our core values

  • a white woman with short blond hair with her hand resting on her chest and her eyes closed, as if taking a deep breath

    Authenticity

We consistently show up in ways that align with our values, because doing otherwise isn’t an option. We strive to bring that same authenticity and empathy to our writing.

    Intentionality

In meetings, you’ll frequently hear “What’s our goal here?” We practice intentionality in ensuring our work stays aligned with the outcomes we’re trying to achieve, as well as being intentional in the language we use in our writing.

    Curiosity

We believe in the power of learning new things and getting to know people’s stories. We love taking deep dives into new topics or the latest research and sharing interesting insights.

    Social Justice

We write to uplift and affirm BIPOC, LGBTQ+ communities, disability rights, and other traditionally disenfranchised communities. Read more about this in our Equity Statement at the bottom of this page.
